Have a Date with the Brandenburg
There are so many inspiring people in this world, and I want to bring as many of them as I can to our Brandenburg stage and share them with you.
There is a huge menu of artists out there – instrumentalists and singers, local and offshore – from all cultures and corners of the world. Personalities who brave the stage and show us great beauty, fun, virtuosity, humility, silliness, and, most of all, the genius of the great men and women who wrote this beautiful music.
There’s Mozart and Handel, Locatelli and Porpora. There’s Italian, German, Spanish and English music. There is a virtuoso baroque violinist from Milano, Italy, Stefano Montanari; one of the great coloratura sopranos in the world today, Simone Kermes from Leipzig, Germany; four amazing artists from Buenos Aires led by Eduardo Egüez; the glorious Brandenburg Choir, our Australian jewels, soprano Sara Macliver and mezzo soprano Fiona Campbell; and the French star who sold every available ticket during his last visit, countertenor Philippe Jaroussky. Together with all of these stars are, of course, the spectacular musicians of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra on period instruments.
