Circus that moves the heart, mind and soul
After a sell-out collaboration in 2015, Circa and the Brandenburg join creative forces once more in a feast for the senses in Spanish Baroque: Brandenburg and Circa
Since 2004 Circa has been at the frontier of new circus – creating powerful works of circus art that challenge, thrill and delight. Performances that push the boundary of the circus artform, blur the lines between movement, dance, theatre and circus and yet are a unique, singular ‘Circa’ experience. Featuring an ensemble of multi-skilled circus artists under the direction of Yaron Lifschitz, Circa’s award-winning works have been seen in 37 countries across six continents.
Circa and the Brandenburg
Circa and the Brandenburg last collaborated in 2015 in their Helpmann Award-winning series French Baroque, earning five star reviews and described by critics as "gasp-inducing", a "dazzling collaboration", a "fantastic confection of music and movement", "compelling", "exhilarating" and "recommended without reservation".
Yaron and Paul Dyer are keenly anticipating Circa and the Brandenburg's return to the stage, and in 2017 their first performance in Brisbane together. They have promised a sensational performance, a riveting experience that will leave you gasping for more. Yaron says of Spanish Baroque "I want to make something between a bullring and a Capoeira circle, a place where improvisation and music and bodies get melded into something that's kind of muscular and thrilling".
