2021 has been a year of great uncertainty. Yet in the absence of live performances, our supporters empowered the Brandenburg to adapt and achieve incredible milestones. From live concerts to Digital Premieres, we want to thank you for standing with us through this challenging year.
Brandenburg One provided a wonderful opportunity to rethink how we produce and share our music. It is through your support that we continue to stay connected, and bring the joy and splendour of Baroque music to audiences around the world.
This annual appeal drives our mission to perform live again in the concert halls. All donations - no matter how small – helps us to continue performing the music we love on period instruments with the world’s best musicians. We can’t wait to share what we’ve planned for you in 2022.
Thank you for standing with us.
Thank you for supporting our Brandenburg.
Please donate so we can all get back together in the concert halls together.
HERE ARE SOME MESSAGES FROM OUR MUSICIANS:
What I miss most about the Brandenburg is...
"The excitement of concerts, the warmth of our audiences and making music on stage with my friends and colleagues." - Marianne Yeomans, Baroque Viola.
"The interaction with my fellow musicians...that unique chemistry and the positive feedback when you have someone else with you on stage." - Raphael Font, Baroque Violin.
I love Baroque music because...
"It involves research into these sources, and it’s also re-creating history which I find very exciting." - Tommy Anderson, Principal Theorbo/Baroque Guitar.
"It’s celebrating emotion and this idea of rhetoric in such a great way using these amazing instruments. The effect is so beautiful and I love it." - Matthew Greco, Baroque Violin.
My highlight for this year was...
"We had a wonderful soloist come out to Australia – Jonas [Zschenderlein] performed Bach with us. Despite travelling across the world, being in quarantine then straight into lockdown, his incredible joy and generosity [and] the way he banded with the orchestra was really special." - Matt Bruce, Associate Concertmaster.
"When we had a moment to perform live in Melbourne... I also really enjoyed getting together to film and communicating to our audience through Brandenburg One." - Anthea Cottee, Baroque Cello
I'm looking forward to getting back into the concert halls to...
"Presenting some exciting programs. Every program is so different and it will be just great to see all those beautiful smiles in the audience again." - Monique O'Dea, Principal Baroque Viola.
AS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ARTS ORGANISATION, EVERY WAY YOU GET INVOLVED MAKES A DIFFERENCE.
